VP, Account Director

The VP, Account Director, will lead the day-to-day account team and assist the client(s) in developing and executing numerous marketing initiatives. This person will advise and manage the client(s) strategic concept development through program execution, bringing new ideas and opportunities for consideration. This person will also make themselves experts in the current business landscape to keep the client informed when relevant to their business. The Account Director will regularly lead communication with key client personnel and internal agency stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interacting daily with the corporate client(s), properties, and multiple agencies/vendors to support marketing initiatives.
  • Leading daily performance of account team, ensuring quality work, professional communications, effective process implementation alongside timely & strategic account management
  • Assisting with client strategy, creation, development, and execution for the client(s), including negotiating necessary contractual partnership terms, overseeing assets and third-party vendor involvement, internal/external communications, promotions, and onsite activation
  • Developing marketing activation ideas and execution plans based on client objectives/budget.
  • The oversight of tactical onsite marketing activations at high-profile client events focused on client satisfaction.
  • Developing specific programs for a client’s partners using marketing assets
  • Negotiating team, player, and third-party vendor contracts
  • Providing industry insights & analysis, including incremental opportunities for integration and co-promotions
  • Leading evaluation and a POV of new activation opportunities
  • Identifying and contacting potential marketing partners for the client(s) goals/objectives
  • Presenting to the senior-level client and internal agency executives

Education And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing or related field, MBA preferred, but not required.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of agency, client-based, or marketing experience (Specific disciplines could include: experiential/event marketing, branded content, marketing strategy, experiential marketing, business development)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with client management experience
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing creative solutions to marketing challenges.
  • Ability to lead the development and implementation of marketing programs with a cross- functional team.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day relationships with clients and other divisions.
  • Intellectual leadership, a problem-solving aptitude, and a broad understanding of global popular culture
  • Excellent time management, written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of client-service deliverables without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time (including weekend events)
